Political Science, University of the East; admitted to the practice of law in the Philippines in 1980; practiced social security law and litigation with the Social Security System; practiced Public and Private International Law (Foreign Criminal Jurisdiction litigation under the RP-US Military Bases Agreement) as General Attorney with the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate General, U.S. 13th Air Force; former In-house Counsel to Kumho Construction and Engineering Corp. (government infrastructure contracts and bidding), Pilar Development Corp. and Fil-Estate Group (real estate); John Clements Consultants, Inc. (domestic and overseas employment law); engaged in active private practice in Cagayan de Oro City and Northern Mindanao (1991-2008); with extensive experience in both trial and appellate litigation in various fields of law, including Criminal Law, EPIRA, Marriage and Family Law, Tort, Wills and Estate; former Member of the Board and Auditor, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Misamis Oriental Chapter; Past President, Rotary Club of Carmen Valley, RI District 3860; former Arbitrator, Philippine Association of Voluntary Arbitrators; former Member, Inter-Pacific Bar Association; Co-consultant of the Korean Copyright Commission; active in enforcement of intellectual property rights (IPR) cases, and heads the firm’s patent infringement litigation team; currently handles mass tort litigation on the MT Solar 1 oil spill.
